Oof, what a crazy year 2021 has been! With a lockdown and the worst wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the year started on a bitter note but thankfully, the later months of the year were somewhat enjoyable. Delhi saw some of the best restaurants open up in 2021 and they’ve been trending widely! We’re sure all of us have visited these oh-so-amazing restaurants/cafes at least once and if not, then we can always add them to our go-to list post the pandemic. So we’ve put together a list of the most happening restaurants/cafes for you to reminisce about the LIT times you’ve spent there last year!
1. Bo-Tai Switch

Located in the heart of the city, Bo-Tai offers delicious Asian, Chinese and Thai cuisine. Its exquisite decor and indoor, as well as outdoor seating, has made it everyone’s go-to place for a scrumptious meal and classic cocktails. Some of our faves from their menu have to be Stir-Fried Fish With Chillies & Basil and Stir-Fried Prawns In Butter Garlic Sauce. Tempted, aren’t you? Can you guess one of the most Insta-worthy restaurants in town? Well, Diablo it is. This place has won hearts not just ‘cause of its utterly delicious Mediterranean, Turkish and Iranian food but also ‘cause of its magnificent interiors! We’re sure y’all must’ve had a gala time chilling with your squad at this amazing restaurant. 3. Kakapo

Kakapo is an elegant, picturesque restaurant with eye-pleasing decor. The highlight of this place is the massive faux tree that all Delhiites have captured and posted on our Instagram stories, haven’t we? Some of our faves from their wide variety of lip-smacking dishes include Beer Battered Fish & Chips, Spicy Chicken Dimsums and not to forget their soul-satisfying Rhuam Mit dessert which is a coconut pannacotta with a side of jasmine sago, Japanese melon, water chestnut and jackfruit, yum! 4. Colocal

The perfectly done interiors and bright yellow walls give this cafe a European vibe. After a long day of work, all of us have craved a yummilicious cup of coffee and have headed to Colocal for the same or even to catch up with our besties over drool-worthy food and desserts. Our faves include the luscious Hot Chocolate and appetizing Pepperoni Pizza, have you tried them both? Let’s plan a catch-up sesh with the besties soon after the pandemic settles!

5. Saga - Cuisines Of India

Did you know that our neighbouring Gurgaon has one of the tallest bars in the world too? Saga, the restaurant with one of the tallest bars, has created quite a buzz in G-town. Serving modern Indian, North Indian and Mughlai, the food here is absolutely relish-worthy and some of our faves here for sure include the heavenly Butter Chicken and their soul-satisfying Puranee Dilli Se dessert which includes rasmalai and gulab jamun, mouth-watering, right?! If you haven’t been here with bae for a date night then add it to your list already and head over once things get better!

6. Bohca

Known for their chic interiors, flavourful food and cocktail hour, Bohca topped the chart of most happening restaurants last year! It has been the OG place for brunches, lunches, dinners and even for a coffee sesh with a light snack. It’s the perfect place for all occasions, a day out with the fam, diner with bae or drinks with the gang. Serving a mix of European, Middle Eastern and Asian, our top dishes from their menu are the juicy Chicken & Chive Dumplings and of course, Glazed Lamb Chops. As hard as it is, we gotta wait for the day we can dine here again!

Listen up folks, Ditas is the answer to all your prayers! With cute outdoor seating, lavish bar display and subtle but appealing decor, Ditas is defo an A1 restaurant. From European to Asian, it caters to all your taste palettes and delivers some exceptionally scrumptious savoury as well as sweet dishes. Full of cutesy corners, it’s also a perfect place to get your $100 shot! So, let’s make this place trend in 2022 as well but only post the pandemic.

8. Tera Vita

This Italian bistro will take you straight to the streets of Italy, offering yummilicious Italian cuisine. Tera Vita, with its perfectly pink interiors, has been a major highlight of 2021 for not just its food but also its ambience. Who doesn’t love a cheese-oozing pizza and creamy pasta? Well, this restaurant made sure to serve dishes that we eat till our tummy refuses to take in more food. Apart from their tempting pizzas & pasta, the desserts are to vouch for. The Vanilla Bean Pannacotta is one such dessert and trust us when we say it, it’s heavenly! Our list of restaurants to re-visit/visit post the pandemic is ready and Tera Vita is defo on it!

9. Laduree

This French patisserie has finally made its way in India and we’re super chuffed. Were y’all among those who went bonkers at the opening of Laduree too? With the pistachio and pink interiors giving a subtle French vibe, this is one of the prettiest patisserie’s to have opened in D-city. We’re sure all of us have had a memorable time devouring their divine pastries and macarons, yum! Let’s put it on our WhatsApp groups and make Laduree the first place to visit once things get better.

10. Kiko-Ba

Located in one of the poshest localities, this elegant restaurant serves the best Asian cuisine. Known for its food presentation and ambience, Kiko-Ba has been the ideal restaurant for a romantic date night. We’ve relished some of their chef’s special including Butter Garlic Chili Prawns, Korean Chicken Wings, Truffle Mushroom Dimsums and Gochujang Chicken Baos and it’s safe to say that we’ve loved every bite of every dish. Don’t forget to make reservations for two post the pandemic for a splendid date night with bae, full of delish food & classic cocktails!
