Back in 1905, an 11-year old boy named Frank Epperson left soda powder, water and a wooden stirrer in a cup by accident, which had frozen overnight by the chilly weather. This was the birth of the Epsicle which he sold in his neighbourhood and later patented. Years later, he changed its name to the popsicle. Interesting, no? 

2. Some Fungi Create Zombies, Then Control Their Minds

A specific kind of tropical fungi known as Ophiocordyceps infects ants’ central nervous systems. By the 9th day, these fungi have complete control of the ants’ mind and over their movements. Wharton to develop the cotton candy machine which was earlier known as Fairy Floss. Now it’s unknown whether it was intentional, but we can say for certain that he ensured that others in his field always had plenty of patients! 

6. The Oldest ‘Your Mom’ Joke Was Discovered On A 3,500-Year-Old Babylonian Tablet

Fortunately, the researchers managed to photograph the tablet and translate the text which roughly translated to various jokes among which - you guessed it - The first ‘your mom’ joke was created! 

7. Movie Trailers Were Originally Shown After The Movie, Which Is Why They Were Called Trailers

The world’s first movie trailer was shown at a theatre in Harlem, New York, in 1914 promoting an upcoming Charlie Chaplain movie. The problem was that most people usually used to leave before watching the trailer and thus, the whole promotional aspect over the years changed drastically!
