The winter chill is hitting us hard and there’s no better time to go bar hopping! Which is why we’ve gone and ahead and scoured the city looking for awesome, affordable and pocket-friendly bars to chug a pint (or 10) at in Delhi - scroll on and happy boozing!

1. Local

It’s cheap and you’ll still feel like you’re in an elegant joint with cool lights, plush seats and a spacious area. They have some great Indian-Chinese food to accompany the drinks and apart from the regular stuff, they have an amazing range of wines as well. Try their local cocktails for some offbeat experiments if you’re up for it!

2. MyBar Headquarters

We started coming here in our college days and it remains one of our favourite bars till date. The staff is super casual, the ambience is comfortable and of course, the drinks are as cheap as they get. 

They have some good finger food to pair with the drinks and this place is perfect for when you’re looking to go all out on drinks, without ending up broke the next day!

3. Cafe MRP

The name itself makes it clear that all drinks are served at MRP rates *YASS* and well, it doesn’t get cheaper than that, does it? The ambience is super cool with dim lighting and great music and the food is actually pretty amazing. 
We love their selection of cocktails and combined with the overall service, you definitely get more than what you pay for here!

4. Castle 9

A small, cosy place in CP, this one’s perfect for heading over with a close knit group and you can hang out here for as long as you want. They have live music on the weekends and they’re pretty well known for their Indian and Mughlai snacks. 
Head over here with your squad and get down to drinking because the bartender is pretty damn great and knows how to make his cocktails right!

5. Sam's Restaurant & Bar

This one is a legendary place in Paharganj and you’ll find a diverse crowd here. Hang out at the restaurant and try various cuisines while enjoying drinks as they should be - cheap and plenty. The terrace area is perfect to hang out in the winters with some alcohol to warm you up and a view of the city to boot!

6. Route 04

Route 04 is an American-inspired bar and there’s plenty to try out here! A lively place with good music, Route 04 has some amazing Italian dishes and their pizzas are a must have. The drinks are all reasonably priced and along with the ambience, that gives us enough of a reason to keep coming back here!

7. Ardor 2.1

This is quite the classy place and you can even head here with your work group. Although it doesn’t look like your typical bar or lounge, they often have live gigs and we are SO digging the ambience of this place - come swing by!

8. 736 A.D

One of the few good bars around North Campus, this one’s filled with students and the atmosphere is forever brimming with energy. It’s also one of the few places here that stay open till 1 AM and also have a rooftop seating area. They also have plenty of takers for their BMW shots so go find out what they’re talking about!

9. Blues 

It’s not surprising that the ambience here is all blue and it reminds us of a vintage bar. While the food is on the pricier side, it’s pretty damn good, especially the tandoori snacks. The drinks are quite affordable and you’ll have a lot of variants to choose from. Do try the LIIT for a boozy start to the evening!

They’ve been around for a pretty long time and serve the most amazing Chinese food in town. It’s not the usual Chinjabi food you get on the streets but the real, authentic kind.
