8. Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary

Bounded by river Teesta on the east side and by Mahanadi river and Hill Cart Road on the west side, this reserved forest is an interesting place to visit. Wear your long boots and head out to spot the Himalayan Black Bears, the glorious range of birds and other animals. Due to extensive movement of elephants, admission to the sanctuary remains closed during winters and monsoons.
