Peep Into The Life Of The Sherpas At The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute
Here’s a shout-out to all the mountaineering freaks out there, we’ve got something awesome in store for you!
Darjeeling is home to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) which was built in tribute to Tenzing Norgay to keep the art of mountain climbing alive in the country. Don’t you think it’d be exciting to know how the sherpas actually lead their life?! Apart from being a mountaineering school, HMI also has a museum inside it with amazing mountaineering artefacts on display.
And oh! it would be a shame if you paid a visit to HMI and gave the legendary telescope a miss. Now a gift to HMI, the telescope was presented by Adolf Hitler to Maharaja Juddha Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana of Nepal and offers a crystal clear view of the entire Kanchenjunga range!
So, what are you waiting for? Tie up your shoelaces and head to HMI!
