Head down to the enormously beautiful Honnamana Kere (Kannada for lake). You can choose to either go boating or fishing out into the lake or enjoy the peaceful ambience and wilderness from its shores. If you're lucky, you might just spot an elephant or wild cat going about its business in the surrounding forest. You can also trek to the top of the Gavi Betta cliff for a spectacular bird’s eye view of the lake.

Those interested in the history of the place will be intrigued by the temple dedicated to a local goddess after whom the lake is named. There are even ancient man-made caves here, fabled to have existed during the age of the Pandavas, which surely piqued our interest!
