Kapaleeswarar Temple is a majestic building tucked away in the buzzing streets of Mylapore. It’s dedicated to Arulmigu Kapaleeswarar (a form of Lord Shiva) and Goddess Karpagambal (a form of Parvati) and is one of the most popular religious spots in the city.

Marvellous Architecture | This enchanting temple was built by the Pallavas in the 7th century. The glorious architecture is heavily inspired by Dravidian styles and comprises stone carvings, wood carvings, Gopuram at the doorway, and intricately decorated pillars. It’s swarmed with devotees during major festivals like Panguni and Arubathimooval.

The priests perform rituals 6 times each day and during the worship, melodious tunes of music instruments like Nadaswaram and Thavil are played as well. Come over folks, witness the grand tableau during the celebrations, and find your inner peace - you’re definitely gonna go home happy and calm!
