One For The Bucketlist! Hop On One Of Asia's Highest Cable Cars - Gulmarg Gondola

A visit to Kashmir is incomplete without Gulmarg’s Gondola ride which promises you the experience of a lifetime. To begin with, it's touted as one of the highest cable cars in Asia and that should be reason enough to hop on!

The gondola makes two stops (Phase 1 & Phase 2), one at Kongdoori which takes approximately 9 minutes and the second at Appharwat which takes approximately 12 minutes. 

Catch an early morning Gondola to Kongdoori and enjoy a simple yet sumptuous breakfast of chai and paranthas at one of the small stalls. Capture the #FoodWithAView shot as you warm up your belly amidst a view of Himalayan peaks and the far off lush green landscapes.

The second and final stop on the gondola ride is Appharwat. Have a snowball fight or make snow angels; go crazy! From here you can even get a glimpse of LOC; all you need to do is ask the locals for directions. 

Go on a sledge ride and if you’re all about the adrenaline, go skiing. And if you’re lucky, it might even start snowing. Didn’t we say it would be an epic experience!

The view from the Gondola is magnetic as it gives you a prime view of the valley and mountains and carries roughly 6 people at a time. You can even go for a horse ride in Kongdoori.
