No,absolutely not and any kind of fasting is neither supported nor encouraged in sikhism..Gurbani says “chhode Ann kare pakhand na vo subaagan na vo rand”, means if a soul does fasting and thinks that fasting will please god then it is just a drama and that soul will neither be a married one nor a widow.
