Personally, I feel Kolkata is just full of mystery with its old architecture and crowded lanes. So many stories! When I was there at the start of this year, I used to keep making up backstories for some of the old buildings with my friends as we walked down the streets, spinning tales of people living in them during the British raj, love stories that could not unfold to their poignant end because of some tragedy that befell the family, or some of the rundown, burnt houses being haunted. It's was super fun! Kolkata held beauty in each corner and I loved that about it.
