Nagpur is an undeniable underdog in the tourism front. It has a rich history known to many but not everyone knows of the amazing sites they can visit here that commemorate those historic moments. Nagpur also offers a bunch of natural sites that give you experiences you can only dream of having! To do justice to all the wonders this beautiful city has to offer, we bring to you a list of experiences you must indulge in when in Nagpur!

1. Go On An Orange Orchard Tour

Our childhood textbooks have taught us about Nagpur being the city of oranges; a worthy title owing to the beautiful orchards of orange trees that grow in the area. These orchards are a sight to behold and the mid-sized trees with green leaves and oranges sprouting from it make for great camera shots! Their medium-height canopies of trees form the most relaxing shade for the exhausted travellers to rest under. To enjoy these beautiful farms, you can partake in one of the many orange orchard tours available in the city. Picking oranges, enjoying fresh orange juice and clicking pictures will make for the simple joys one looks for in life.

2. Walk Through The Seminary Hills

Fan of the NYC High Line? Well, you don't have to go that far when we have something as good right here in Nagpur. Seminary Hills is a gorgeous spot in town with picture-perfect natural formations to stroll around in. There is a small gauge railway track covered with beautiful greens that’s nothing less than an all-natural photo op. The place also has a Japanese garden that’s a delight to visit during spring, owing to the pink leaves and flowers that sprout. This is a great place to visit to enjoy pleasant weather and rejuvenate amidst aesthetic delights!

3. Spend Some Time In The Centre Of India

Nagpur is often referred to as the centre of our nation and to commemorate this, the British had built a monument called the Zero Mile Stone that they believed fell at the exact centre of the country. Needless to say, as the nation progressed with time, boundaries were rebuilt and the geographical validity became obsolete. But the cultural significance of this spot has persisted throughout and hence, this colonially symbolic spot in town is an unmissable attraction!

4. Marvel At Deeksha Bhoomi

Merely by looking at the monument one could easily deduce that this prominent edifice is a haven for peace and serenity. Deeksha Bhoomi is an architectural masterpiece that has a fabled history attached to its name. This sacred monument is a hotspot for the faith of Navayana Buddhism and became significantly more sacred when the father of our constitution embraced Buddhism at this spot. 

5. Dip Your Toes In Amba Khori Falls

Amba Khori Falls is a perfect picnic spot and makes for a great unplanned getaway, owing to the scenic drive through Ambakhori Forest one needs to take to reach here. Unlike regular waterfalls, the stones at Amba Khori ensure that the water trickles down in a naturally intricate pattern. The pristine white colour just gives it a pure and transfixing vibe. This is a great place to visit with friends on a day off!

6. Explore The Gandhi Ji’s Life At Sevagram

Sevagram is a small village located near Nagpur that gives you a glimpse of our country’s independence struggle. It is said that Gandhi Ji set up his base here in 1936 during the independence struggle, as it was in central India. He resided here in an Ashram and it is safe to say that the small village that stands today was a haven of national importance back in the day. Due to the large number of colleagues who chose to reside with him, the ashram was a full-fledged institution and this significantly grand establishment still has the Ba Kuti and the Bapu Kuti for visitors to see. These houses preserved in time truly transport one to the 1930s and thus its a place of great cultural importance. 

7. Seek Blessings At Dragon Palace Buddhist Temple

Once you see the picture it’s discernible to the general perception as to how divine the place truly is; Moreover, the temple makes for a perfect feature in your Instagram feeds! Dragon Palace Buddhist Temple is a beautiful religious establishment under the umbrella of the Japanese Ogawa society. The place is set amidst beautiful gardens and houses a serene water body and a unique sandalwood statue of Lord Buddha. 

8. Watch The Sunset At Ambazari Lake

Apart from oranges, Nagpur is also famous for the multitude of lakes it has; the biggest of them all is the Ambazari Lake. To top off a perfect day of sightseeing, or to feel some calm after a busy day of work in the city, the Ambazari Lake gives you the perfect spot for them both. You could watch the mesmeric sunset in the evenings to drown all your exhaustion and worries.
