Built Way Back In The 17th Century - Relive The Best Of History At Salim Singh Ki Haveli

Got an eye for architecture? Consider your weekend plans sorted! Pay a visit to the unique 17th century structure known as Salim Singh Ki Haveli that was named after the former Prime Minister of Jaisalmer, Salim Singh Mahto!

Two stone elephants guard the entrance of this haveli and the 3 storied haveli has 38 distinct balconies! On heading upstairs, make sure you check out the cool peacock shaped brackets supporting the roof. With a façade that resembles the stern of a ship and intricately carved walls, it’s not hard to imagine this haveli as a stately residence. The structure is also referred to as Jahaz Mahal or Moti Mahal.

Take some awesome photographs and get a private tour of the haveli for a small fee. Built over the remains of an older haveli, Salim Singh Ki Haveli continues to be occupied by descendents of Salim Singh.

So don’t miss this cool piece of history located smack dab in the heart of the city!
