You'll Have To Pay A Fine Of Upto Rs 300 If You Honk At These 60 Stretches In Delhi!
Delhizens, do you have a habit of honking too often while driving? Then you’ve got to do something about this, as many stretches in Delhi will be declared as no-honking zones soon! Read on for all the details.
What’s Up? | Delhi Police has come up with a list of 60 stretches which have been marked as no-honking zones and if you honk at any of these zones, you might have to pay a fine! The no-honking rule will be implemented from next week, at around 250 traffic signals.
So which are the places where you can’t honk? Mandir Marg, Ring Road near Panchsheel Enclave, residential areas along the Ring Road, Outer Ring Road, Lutyen’s Delhi, North Campus, South Campus and more places.
The idea is to familiarise people with the ill-effects of too much honking and noise pollution. The police have identified about 10 noisiest corridors in the city. A fine of Rs 100 shall be levied if people honk at these zones, which will go up to a maximum of Rs 300 in case of repeat offenders.
Great move, Delhi Police!
