This Is A Representative Image
Traffic in the capital is super congested. Even the tiny alleys are jampacked, adding to the traffic woes and misery of the locals. But, the traffic police has planned to turn 18 major stretches into no tolerance zones. Read on for more deets, folks!
A Step To Decongest! | On these 18 major stretches, namely Bhalswa, Burari, Vijay Nagar, Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, Netaji Subhash Palace, Khajuri Chowk, Peeragarhi Chowk, Moti Nagar, Pusa Chowk, Chandgiram Akhara, Hanuman Setu, Vikas Marg, Aurobindo Chowk, Adhchini, Dhaula Kuan, Pusa Road, Chirag Dilli and Savitri Flyover, parking and jaywalking will not be allowed in order to decongest them.
The main reason behind the congestion is mixed land use and improper parking, that the traffic police aims to solve. Most of these areas have a length of 2-3 km, and these stretches will be turned into one way during different times of the day. Additional personnel will also be present to make sure that the parking rules are followed, and a dedicated pedestrian crossing will be created.
We hope this latest development solves traffic problems in these areas!
