We Might See The Iconic Signature Bridge Permanently Lit Up Before Diwali This Year
The newest addition to Delhi’s skyline that captured everyone’s attention is The Signature Bridge. This magnificent structure linking Wazirabad to East Delhi was quite the buzzing hotspot in the city when it was first inaugurated as it was also a major tourist attraction. But alas ever since, the footfall has decreased. The Delhi Government has decided to increase the number of visitors and this is how they’re gonna do it!
Shine Bright Like A Diamond | This year, before Diwali, you might see the Signature Bridge brilliantly lit up making for a breath-taking view against the inky night sky. Called India’s first asymmetrical cable-stayed bridge, the Delhi Government has decided to permanently illuminate the entire structure to enhance its appearance and make it more attractive. The 154-metre-tall pylon is not visible at night and thus, a lot of people do not visit the bridge during that time.
From static to dynamic, there are endless possibilities for the illumination work and they all will be looked into by the Delhi Transport and Tourism Development Corporation who will explore all the available options out there. The project is likely to be completed by mid-October.
The observation deck is also being renovated and is expected to be finished by June 30th which will be able to accommodate 50-60 people and will be used as a sunrise and sunset point to attract tourists. The areas around the bridge will also be developed which shall include a tourist facilitation station and a children’s park below the bridge.
We can’t wait to click pretty pictures against the lit-up Signature Bridge and flaunt it on your Insta handles!
