We May Get What's Being Called One Of The World’s Largest Aquariums @ This Upcoming Museum District

Delhi, for sure, is a city of umpteen surprises! It has always managed to wow us with its hidden historical treasures, eateries, and now, a museum district! Yep, you heard us right. Scroll on and find out what’s it all about.

A Museum Zone In Delhi? | The Union Environment Ministry may develop a museum district in the area between the Delhi Zoo, Old Fort and Pragati Maidan, people! Wanna know what’s exactly up their sleeve? Well, we might soon see a freshwater aquarium, which is touted to be one of the largest in the world, and a National Museum of Natural History. These people are also planning the redevelopment of the National Zoological Park, Craft Museum and National Science Center.  

And that ain’t all, the project also includes the construction of a 120-meter-high building with about 30 storeys (OMG), which’ll be designed in the shape of a conch. Hmm, fascinating! This museum may be named as Panchjanya, taking its name from the conch of Lord Krishna. This really creatively designed building will have a skydeck on the topmost floor, which’ll provide a breath-taking view of the city! 

Reportedly, the aquarium will draw water from the Yamuna, using underground pipelines and purifying it before use. Also, the upcoming National Museum of Natural History would be at par with the best museums in the world, like the Smithsonian Museum of Washington, according to sources. These people are also planning a skywalk connecting these newly redeveloped buildings to Pragati Maidan, the hub of Delhi’s prominent exhibitions and conventions. 

From conch shaped building to a state-of-the-art aquarium, the city’s gonna get SO much, if this plan gets materialised. Right now, we’re crossing our fingers and hoping that this project hits the city real soon!
