Guys, is the traffic scene in the city getting on your nerves? We feel you! But guess what? Our Transport Ministry has a nice surprise for us peeps - keep reading for the deets.
What’s Going On? | The Transport Ministry has announced that they’ll be building a new highway connecting Delhi with the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) in a bid to decongest the city as much as possible. This six-lane, traffic signal-free highway will connect Akshardham in East Delhi with the Eastern Peripheral Expressway junction on Baghpat Road.
The 31.3 km road will run from Akshardham to the Saharanpur bypass. The project also includes the building of a 19 km-long elevated road, with 8 new underpasses, 7 ramps and overbridges. This high-speed highway will help decongest the city and hopefully reduce pollution.
We applaud this much-needed initiative!
