This Cool New Technology @ T2 & T3 By Year End Will Make Security Checks MUCH Faster

There’s a cool development that’s happening at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) that’ll make checking-in so much easier and quicker!
Security Checks @ IGI To Get Quicker | We just heard that the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is planning to install 10 Automatic Tray Retrieval Systems (ATRS) by the end of the year. This is an awesome move, ‘cause it will now allow frisking of passengers at a faster rate (cool)! It will increase the speed of security checking by 60%-70% from the present 180-200 to a whopping 350 passengers on an hourly basis!
These ATRS will consist of rollers on which the trays that hold the belongings of the travellers for scanning purposes are installed. So, basically, when a flyer puts their baggage on these trays and passes it through the scanner, it’ll bring the tray back to the initial point. The CISF officials currently collect these manually, so they can be reused and this new technology will reduce the manual intervention tremendously!
These will be installed in phases at the terminals 2 & 3 and the travellers might be able to use this facility from December of this year onwards! These two terminals currently have 1 operational ATRS each for trial purposes which were started back in 2017.
Sounds like a boon for the frequent flyers, doesn’t it?
