This App Lets You Know If You've Been Near A COVID-19 Infected Person
The Government of India recently launched its official COVID-19 tracking app that lets you know if you were near an infected person. This comes at the time when the number of cases are rising and will aim to reduce the panic amongst the citizens. Here’s more info on that.
Tracking Virus | Aarogya Setu app is the official app to track Coronavirus which was recently launched on the Google Play Store and the App Store. The app aims to provide healthcare services to the people while the nation fights this pandemic. Did you know that this app was developed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology through Public And Private Partnership under the guidance of NIC in just 4 days?!
Yep, this app uses Bluetooth and location data to see if the person has been near any COVID-19 infected person and will then share the data with the government in case of contact. The terms and conditions say that the data won’t be shared to any third party or with the general public at large, but only with the government.
Plus, there’s a chatbot which answers user’s query and allows them to understand the symptoms. It also has various helpline numbers listed on the app to make it easier for the people to contact the concerned authorities in case of emergencies.
