157 Years Old Heritage Library To Get Renovated | Hardayal Municipal Heritage Public Library in Chandni Chowk, which was established in the year 1862 (woah!), has been given the approval to get renovated. Under this revamp, the building will undergo slight modifications in the structure, the old books will be preserved and the entire catalogue will be computerised. The renovation is expected to be completed in 12 months.
The library started as a reading club for Britishers and now it's home to around 8,000 rare books like ‘History of the Worlds’ by Sir Walter Raleigh from 1677, many first editions of the books that were block-printed in the 17th & 18th centuries, rare copies of the Persian manuscripts with golden inscriptions and what not!
We can't keep calm about this revamp and are patiently waiting to dig our noses in these rare books and manuscripts!
