This Is A Representative Image

Delhi has been reeling under the blanket of icy cold winds for the past few days. Well, this has also increased the pollution levels in the city and here’s what you need to know about this.

Icy Days Ahead? | The blanket of haze that constantly covers the city recently intensified. So, our city experienced the coldest morning of the till the19th of December. The temperature had dropped to 7 degrees Celcius on Wednesday, the 18th of December, which is actually way below average. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) recorded that the Air Quality Index (AQI) was at 292 instead.

The same around 10 PM was recorded at 307 which falls under ‘Very Poor’ category. The difference between the maximum and the minimum temperatures was reduced to just 1.8 degrees Celsius which means that the day is almost as cold as the night.

Let’s hope the weather gets better and until then, we could sip on cups of warm coffee or tea!
