The No. Of Duty-Free Alcohol & Cigarettes That You Can Buy Might Be Just Slashed To Half!

Listen up, travellers! We just heard that the Government has put a proposal to limit the number of alcohol bottles and cigarette packs that a traveller can purchase from the duty-free outlets while coming back from an overseas trip and here are all the deets that you should make note of.

For A Sober Year | Presently, you can buy 2 litres of liquor and 100 cigarettes from the duty-free stores but as per a current proposal, this number will be further reduced. However, the proposal is yet to be finalized. One of the important reasons behind this proposal is to restrict the entry of sin goods and to match the country’s rules with global standards.

This proposal comes to light after the Indian airport operators had requested to double the allowance of liquor, like in other countries like Thailand, Singapore and Dubai. The lobby group has said that an increase in the trade of duty-free goods will keep the airlines’ tariffs in check.

So, what do you think about this development?
