Hey peeps! Travel by road very often? Tired of all the annoying pollution and never-ending traffic jams that make your life hell? Then read on as something awesome has recently happened that’ll make your lives (and ours as well) a little easier!
What’s Going On? | PM Narendra Modi recently inaugurated the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway in Gurgaon that’ll divert vehicles far away from the city! So we’re hoping that Delhi’s air quality level may just improve. This newbie is also known as the Western Peripheral, which is part of the Peripheral Expressway project.
This project was divided into Western and Eastern Peripheral Expressway - the latter was inaugurated earlier in 2018 and we’ve already told you loads about it. With the Western Peripheral Expressway, the capital just got its 4th ring road and that’s pretty cool!
The 83 kms stretch from Kundli to Manesar will have 56 underpasses, 14 major and minor bridges, 7 intersections and toll plazas each. The Manesar-Palwal stretch is 52 kms in length and would have 32 underpasses. The Western Peripheral Expressway will facilitate high-speed connectivity between Northern and Southern districts of Haryana. Also, it will link major highways like NH 1 (Panipat to Delhi) and NH 8 (Jaipur - Gurgaon - Delhi), NH 10 (Hisar - Rohtak - Delhi).
And here’s the best thing of all - thanks to the Western Peripheral Expressway, about 50,000 fewer cars will now enter the capital and we’re heaving a sigh of relief! So here’s hoping for less pollution in the capital - fingers crossed!
