In a piece of path-breaking news, we’ve just come to know that the Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia announced on Monday that they’ll be reducing the legal drinking age from 25 to 21 in the National Capital. Here’s all you need to know!

New Liquor Laws In Delhi | These changes came about when the Delhi government was making changes to the Excise Policy of Delhi. With these changes, the Deputy Chief Minister also announced the new liquor policy, stating that since some of the areas in the city are under-served while others are over-served, it has led to the formation of the liquor mafia. This was an attempt to cleanse the liquor trading system in the state.

He also stated that there will be no government liquor stores in Delhi and no new liquor shops will be opened in the national capital. The new rules further state that new liquor stores will only be allowed to open if they are set up in a space of 500 sq. ft. The government also stated that liquor rates will be as per market trends, from this point onwards! The rule also remains that no one less than 21 years of age will be allowed to enter bars and restaurants for liquor consumption.

In a reversal of these drinking age rules, we’re curious as to what other changes will be addressed with regard to the new policy!
