The Govt Plans To Crack Down On Food Wastage By Deciding Portion Sizes Served At Restaurants
Planning an all-you-can-eat scrumptious feast at your favourite restaurant? Well, gone are those days because most likely you’ll be served a particular portion, and only and only that! The government is planning on deciding a particular portion size that would be served to guests in order to prevent the rampant food wastage that happens on a regular basis.
A questionnaire is being drafted for hotels and restaurants, wherein they will be asked to explain what dish sizes they should serve to the customers in order to reduce wastage of food. This initiative is inspired by PM Modi’s 26th March Mann Ki Baat speech which was focused on wastage of food at social gatherings and feasts!
People don’t even finish half of what’s on their plates and end up wasting it, and thus a step is being taken regarding this!
Good move!
