The Emergency Pollution Action Plan Starting Today Ft. Odd-Even Scheme & Banning Diesel Generators

Having a hard time breathing lately? Well, the season of air pollution is back in town and this time, it’s worse than ever before. As the air quality drops down several more notches in the city, Delhi has adopted an emergency action plan today to stop the situation from getting worse! Read on to know what all’s in store for us.

Time To Pull Up Our Socks | Keeping in mind the poor air quality of the city, the Delhi Government has put forth a emergency action plan that’ll include steps like imposing bans on diesel power generator sets, halting construction activities in Delhi, seizure of polluting vehicles that adds to the poor air quality, mechanised sweeping of roads, bringing back the odd-even scheme and hiking parking fees - if need be!

If the air quality is moderate to poor in the upcoming days, steps like ceasing garbage burning in landfills and imposing all pollution control regulations in industries in and around Delhi would be implemented.

But that’s not where it ends, if push comes to shove and the air pollution is still not under control (god forbid), more severe measures like sprinkling water on roads to down the dust, increasing rounds of mechanised cleaning of roads, banning entry of trucks in Delhi, shutting down of schools and more will be taken!

Due to paddy burning in Haryana and Punjab, the air quality in October - November is the worse during these months in Delhi NCR! So keep your fingers crossed and hope for some improvement, guys!
