All of us have been incessantly complaining through the entirety of July that it’s not raining enough but now, with this announcement of the IMD, it seems like all our complaints have been registered by the rain gods and will be answered as well, quite alarmingly so!
Red And Orange Alert In Delhi | We just heard that a red alert has been issued in the National Capital Region by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), as the city might receive the strongest spell of rainfall during this monsoon season. The red alert has been issued for Thursday, i.e., the 25th of July while an orange alert has been issued for Friday the 26th of July. The intensity of the rainfall is supposed to be strongest on Thursday, hence the reason for the red alert!
So basically, from what we know, saddi Dilli has received a 167.7 mm of rainfall this season as against the normal 221.9 mm which makes it stand at a deficit of 24%. And the heavy rainfall to be received on the said days might not just cover the deficit but could also reach a surplus!
North Delhi Municipal Corporation has asked its staff to clear out water from the road and take care of the temporary waterlogging, if any! Sounds like we’re up against quite a tumultuous weather!
