Paying Tribute - French President Ushers in Republic Day Parade

Time for cozy cups of chai and mornings spent glued to TVs with everybody gathered around! Yes, soon it’s Republic Day time people!

This year we’re doing things a little differently! The government's decided to hold a 90-minute parade rather than the standard two hour one, cutting down on the number of marching military contingents and clubbing together the mechanised ones.

Best bit - French President Francois Hollande has been invited to be the Chief Guest and for the first time in India’s history we’ll witness 130 French soldiers marching down Rajpath alongside Indian troops.

Looking forward to a thundering good parade this year!
