Our Dear Delhi Remains Covered In Smoke & Toxic Air For The Third Consecutive Day Today
Now that Diwali has ended and winter is around the corner, the hot topic is Delhi’s smog is back! Yep, that’s right! And today’s the third consecutive day that the city has been covered in hazardous smoke.
Smoky Days Ahead | The capital city has been covered in a smoky haze for three consecutive days and this is becoming a serious concern for the health of the residents. Although the city’s AQI was better today at 8 AM than yesterday at 8 PM, the air quality continues to remain in the ‘severe’ category with areas like Wazirpur, Ashok Vihar, Anand Vihar, Vivek Vihar and Bawana being the critically polluted. So, basically, the stubble burning contributed a total of 35 per cent to the city’s pollution on Wednesday which is, FYI, the season’s highest.
According to experts, the major reason for pollution was the speed of the wind post-Diwali which decreased unfavourably leading to an accumulation of the pollutants. Make sure that you wear a mask whenever you leave your house and avoid early morning and late evening walks ‘cause that’s when the concentration of pollutants is the highest.
Well, let’s hope that the city witnesses less pollution this season and the deadly smoke finds a way out of the city super soon.
