Our news feed has been flooded with numerous cases of exorbitant challans that are being issued to people ever since the new fine structure came into place. And a lot of us fear that this might pave the way for the misuse of power by the traffic policemen to fill up their pockets. But we just heard about this reassuring development that has sort of put our minds at ease!

On Record, Quite Literally | So, from what we’ve heard, the Delhi Police has come up with a plan that will raise the accountability of the policemen on duty. We’re talking about body cameras, folks! Yep, the plan is to fit body cameras on ALL traffic police personnel that will record violations and interaction between you and the beat cop.

And the best and the most reassuring part is that NO challan will be issued unless the offence is recorded which is expected to deter manhandling and misbehaviour on the part of both the parties. Plus, these body cameras will record everything from the act of violation to the printing of challan. 

This move will ensure that no cops will misuse their power nor will the people take them for granted! With the ridiculous rise in the penalty rates, this move will hopefully ease your mind.
