NDMC Plans To Run Mini-Buses & Battery Operated Rickshaws For Last Mile Connectivity
The New Delhi Municipal Council under the Centre’s flagship Smart City Programme plans to run mini-buses and battery operated rickshaws to offer last mile connectivity and avoid traffic congestion.
These services will be available for connectivity from railway - metro stations and bus terminals to nearby offices, colleges and government residential colonies in and around Delhi. These transport services will be along the lines of metro feeder buses.
Pick up and drop points will be created at New Delhi Railway Station, Shivaji Bridge, Tilak Bridge, and Sarojini Nagar Station and soon from parking lots to nearby markets as well.
The motive behind this is to control pollution and traffic on the streets. Let’s hope they’re successful!
