MediaTek Unveiled Their Newest 5G Systems-On-Chip At The 2nd Edition Media Technology Diaries

Technology is something so accessible yet oh-so-difficult to understand at times due to its myriad complexities. Keeping this in mind, MediaTek hosted an event called the Technology Diaries recently! The 2nd edition, this gathering was held in Chennai, where the conversation focused on their 5G readiness - the next big thing in the world of technology!

MediaTek Unveils Its New 5G SoC | Said to be the world’s 4th largest global fabless semiconductor company and powering more than 1.5 billion devices, MediaTek is a market leader in systems-on-chip (SoC) for Voice Assistant Devices (VAD), smart-home solutions and automotive solutions. 

The 2nd Edition Media Technology Diaries took place on Friday, the 31st of May, where they held discussions on the impact of MediaTek technologies in everyday life. The panellists included popular names like RJ Sano from 91.9 FM (Chennai), Mr. Anku Jain - Managing Director and Mr. Anuj Sidharth, Deputy Director, Marketing and Communications of MediaTek India. 

The 5G SoC will be a part of the first wave of 5G flagship devices and is supposed to be rolled out globally in 2020. Did you know that it’s available across various popular mobile and non-mobile brands like Xiaomi, Realme, Vivo, Infinix, LG, OPPO, Paytm, KENT, CamEye, Amazon and Mantra - just to name a few? Yep! Plus, 1 out of every 3 mobile phones is said to be powered by MediaTek! Nice.

Known to have initiated various marketing campaigns such as ‘Know your Helio’, they’re also present across various e-commerce portals like Amazon and Flipkart. The 5G SoC supports connectivity from 2G to 4G while 5G networks are launched globally. They also talked about the combined 5G chipset with the MediaTek Helio M70 5G modem, which includes Mali-G77 GPU, ARM’s newest Cortex-A77 CPU and its most advanced AI processing unit.
