To successfully battle the summers, the Delhi govt. has taken some initiatives for the people to make the coming summers a bit more comfortable. Read on!
No More Uncle Ji Pani Pila Dijiye! | CM Rekha Gupta just dropped Delhi’s Heat Action Plan and kicked things off by virtually launching three Cool Roof pilot projects in Kashmere Gate, Anand Vihar, and the Delhi Secretariat. Cool Roof basically means adding a reflective coating to a roof so that it reflects most of the sunlight & absorbs much less heat, thus keeping the inside of the building cool! CM Rekha Gupta plans to install several such roofs across the city on private and government buildings. The govt. is also going to install Digital Cold Water Dispensers to quench that heat induced thirst amongst city citizens. The plan targets high-risk areas like slums and low-income neighbourhoods, with 3,000 water coolers and shaded footpaths coming soon. Plus, outdoor workers and employers will get trained on how to stay safe as temperatures are rising everyday. Now that’s a heatwave glow-up!
Delhi's turning down the heat and turning up the chill!
