Know The Key To Setting The Perfect Table? We Found Out @ MUJI In Select Citywalk!
Turning dreams into reality is Elle Decor magazine’s motto and that’s exactly what their fabulous National Creative Director, Sonia Dutt taught us at a recent table setting session at the newly launched Muji outlet in Delhi last Friday evening!
As lively as Sonia Dutt is, it’s visible in her exquisite table setting skill! She taught us enthusiastic learners two set ups, one was the Biological Garden Buffet Setting in a garden style and the second was a Tea Table Setting. Both completely unique in their own way, they were simply works of art that showed her solid years of experience and passion shine through.
Biological Garden Buffet Setting
The Biological Garden Buffet Setting included simple things like twigs, wooden bowls, ceramic birds and eggs. But the most unique bit was that she used science lab equipment to give it a biological touch! Yep, test tubes and beakers, filled with water and some twigs, leaves and flowers strewn around happily, giving the whole thing a cutesy garden touch. She used everyday products like amla and garden twigs in a way that we could have never thought of ourselves!
Tea Table Setting
Second up was the Tea Table Setting which looked like a set from Alice In Wonderland! Such beautiful and small little things here and there, made it the tea table of our dreams. She mentioned that the most important thing in a table setting is the centre piece, and this tea table had a 3 tiered teapot centrepiece *woah*! Totally unique right? YES! We loved the layering of the teapot the most and just couldn’t get our eyes off it. Apart from that, the white table cloth clad table held some lovely tea cups with Japanese tea infused with some spices. Not only this, though there were enough items on the table, there was still some white space left which she said was another key element as it makes sure that the table doesn’t look too cluttered.
A pro at her job, she made it look so simple but we’re sure our table won’t even look 10% as beautiful as hers did. But still, surely keeping these tips in mind for our next tea party, over all it is the little things that matter!
