Indri's Diwali Collector's Edition 2026 Brings A Rare Ruby Port Cask Expression To The Table!
Diwali is a time for celebrations, thoughtful gifting and bringing out the good stuff, and Indri is giving whisky collectors another reason to raise a toast this festive season! The Indian single malt brand is unveiling its highly anticipated Diwali Collector’s Edition 2026, a limited-edition Ruby Port Cask expression that brings together Indian craftsmanship, artistic heritage and the finer nuances of whisky-making. Making the occasion even more special, Master Blender Surrinder Kumar will be present for the unveiling, offering a closer look at the craft behind this exclusive release.
The fourth edition in Indri’s annual festive series, this year's expression takes a rather interesting route with the richness of Ruby Port wine casks. Crafted using six-row barley and distilled in traditional copper pot stills, the whisky is matured in hand-selected Ruby Port wine casks sourced from Portugal, allowing the character of the wine to complement the depth of Indian single malt. Aged in the subtropical climate of northern India, the result is a whisky bottled at 50% ABV, with just 600 individually numbered bottles reserved for the Indian market.
So, what can you look forward to in the glass? The tasting profile opens with notes of black cherries, wild berries and ripe plums on the nose. The palate follows with honeyed fruits, roasted nuts, toffee, vanilla and figs, before settling into a long, fruit-forward finish. It is an expression that leans into rich, layered flavours while retaining an elegant character, making it an interesting addition to Indri's growing portfolio of single malts.
However, the experience goes beyond what is inside the bottle. The packaging has been conceptualised by Krsnaa Mehta, Founder of India Circus, bringing a distinct artistic identity to this collector's release. Drawing inspiration from Indian miniature art and royal heritage, the design features rich jewel tones, intricate florals and ornate detailing, with a Marwari horse and its foal taking centre stage. Symbolising nobility, lineage and continuity, the artwork gives the bottle a visual story of its own, celebrating India's artistic traditions through a contemporary lens.
With 29 international awards across the Collector's Edition series, Indri continues to showcase the growing possibilities of Indian whisky-making. The 2026 release brings together the expertise of Master Blender Surrinder Kumar, the artistry of Krsnaa Mehta and a carefully selected cask profile to create something that holds its own both as a whisky and a collector's piece.
Limited to 600 individually numbered bottles, the Indri Diwali Collector's Edition 2026 Ruby Port Cask is scheduled for availability in India from mid-October, across Gurugram, Chandigarh and Bengaluru. Packaged in a 700 ml bottle at 50% ABV, this festive release makes a strong case for Indian craftsmanship, heritage and innovation finding their place in the world of premium single malts.
