Developing Future Inventions! | InterGlobe Enterprises, the parent company of India's leading airline, IndiGo, has partnered with US-based Archer Aviation to introduce an all-electric air taxi service in India by 2026. This innovative service will provide rapid transportation for passengers from Connaught Place to Gurugram in just 7 minutes. The partnership will fund the acquisition of up to 200 Midnight aircraft by Archer, which are piloted four-seater electric aircraft designed for fast and consecutive flights. Their eVTOL design minimises charging time between flights, enabling efficient passenger transport. Being electrically powered, the Midnight aircraft is environmentally friendly and will not contribute to the deteriorating air quality in Delhi.

The eVTOL aircraft are set to revolutionise air travel with functions similar to helicopters but with significantly reduced noise levels and enhanced safety measures. Industry experts anticipate the cost of air taxi services in Delhi to range from INR 2,000 to 3,000 for a seven-minute flight using their five-seater eVTOL aircraft from Connaught Place to Gurugram.
