It’s been over three months since the decision to close heritage sites and monuments had been taken. But they’ve opened up once again on Monday, the 6th of July. Read on to know the new set of guidelines for visitors at the heritage sites.

Open Again! | Centrally-protected monuments such as Humanyun’s Tomb and Qutub Minar have opened up for visitors once again, starting Monday. All of these monuments will follow social distancing norms and will be regularly sanitised. Plus, it will be necessary to wear masks, failing to do so, shall result in no entry. Tickets can be booked in either of the two slots of before noon or from noon to 6 PM. Each slot will allow a maximum of 1,600 visitors only.

At the moment only e-tickets are being issued and physical tickets won’t be available for some time. Did you know there are 173 monuments in the city that come under the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI)?  Yep, and this also includes three UNESCO World Heritage Sites - Humayun’s Tomb, Red Fort and Qutub Minar. However, walk organisers are thinking of holding walks with 5-10 people again and will be using microphones to ensure social distancing.

Visiting monuments won’t be a similar experience again for at least some time! What are your thoughts on this?
