Yes, we’re talking about one of the most awaited festivals of the year - Christmas! This cheerful, vibrant and joyous celebration comes with loads of breathtakingly beautiful decorations, indelible memories and grand carnivals, of course. Speaking of which, we’ve culled out the best winter and Christmas carnivals for you to kickstart the merry-making!

1. Oz Haat Mela

Oz Haat Mela is back this year with their 18th edition and we’re super excited for this one. Organised on the beautiful lawns of the Australian High Commission, this mela will see 42 NGOs from across India displaying a wide variety of Christmas decorations, tribal art, textiles, homewares, clothes, jewellery, accessories, candles, toys and loads more!

This year, these guys are also calling in award-winning Australian children’s author Meredith Costain for an interactive book reading session, an auction of cricket bats signed by Australian men’s and women’s cricket teams and a cool live performance by the famous Chizai band. The proceedings from the mela will be going directly to the charities represented, which earns it even more brownie points. So, drop by and have a good time, mate!

2. Swiss-German Christkindl Market

Organised annually by the Indo German Chamber of Commerce, the German Christmas Market is one of the most anticipated carnivals in Delhi. Now in its 21st year, the market will comprise a wide variety of products including furniture, designer home accessories, high-end fashion wear, handicrafts, decorations, candles, souvenirs and garden accessories besides live food counters, live music, fun activities for the kids - et al. 4. American Welcome Association Holiday Mela 2018

The American Welcome Association is back with their annual Holiday Mela and we CANNOT wait to check it out. There’ll be sing-alongs, puppet shows, shopping options and lots of games to be played here as well. The Mela will feature more than 200 stalls where you can shop for handcrafted textiles, beautiful artwork, handicrafts, packaged foods, jewellery, local organic products, goodies made by various NGOs and more. And not just that, they’ll even have a wide variety of delicious Indian and Continental dishes at this mela - YAY!
