Extending To INA Market & Aurobindo Rd, Phase II Of Barapullah Elevated Road Said To Open This June

We have some news for you! The much talked about Barapullah elevated road’s extension to INA Market and Aurobindo Marg in South Delhi which has seen repeated delays in the past, is now likely to open this June.

Dishin’ Out The Deets | After missing its 3rd deadline last month, the Barapullah extension is touted to finally open in June. The road’s extension to INA Market and Aurobindo Marg is the second phase of the project. The first phase, connecting Sarai Kale Khan to JLN Stadium has been operational since the 2010 Commonwealth Games. The second phase initially had a 2015 deadline, which was then extended to September 2017 and then to March 2018. And now, FINALLY, the road may soon be open to the public for use.

The second phase of the elevated road will make travelling easy peasy for all ya peeps headed to the airport from East Delhi. The third phase, which will extend the elevated road to Mayur Vihar, will shorten travel time between Mayur Vihar and Aurobindo Marg by 15-20 minutes which presently takes more than an hour!! But we have some waiting to do, as the line will be operational by December.

Looks like we’re in for some surprises as travelling from East Delhi to South Delhi will now be super easy. Lets keep our fingers crossed and hope that the Barapullah elevated road meets its most recent deadline!
