Friends Of The Environment - The Electrical Vehicles | The Delhi government has asked all the state-run offices to identify spaces in their premises to install public electric vehicle charging stations. This will help the government employees to charge their vehicles during work hours. A subsidy of Rs 6,000 per charging point is admissible for empanelled vendors as per the report by Mint. addressing this, the Transport Minister, Kailash Gahlot said that electric vehicles or EVs are being promoted rapidly throughout the city and their charging stations are being built speedily. He also stated that apart from the government employees, the general public will also be able to charge their vehicles there.
In order to make the process smoother, the Delhi transport department has issued a guidebook to refer to for the charging needs, a number of chargers and more. All the heads of the government departments have been asked to get the electric vehicles charging stations installed within 3 months emphasizing more on offices with high public dealings.
As per the data published by PV magazine, 82 EV charging stations will come up at CNG and petrol pumps. While 34 of them will be at CNG, 24 will be built at Indian Oil petrol pumps, 15 at Bharat Petroleum and 9 at Hindustan Petroleum.
