We just heard that civic bodies of three corporations and New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) has now banned spitting and urinating in public places. Yes, and here’s all the information you need to know about this.
For A Cleaner Society | The fine on such acts has now been increased by ten times to Rs 1,000 if one is caught doing any of the above activities in public spaces. This move comes in light of the ongoing pandemic situation where instantiation can lead to a rise in the number of cases. The bodies have delegated to impose and collect the fines to all licensing inspectors, sanitary and assistant sanitary inspectors, public health inspector and malaria and assistant malaria inspectors.
The violators will be fine on the spot and it will be collected at the same time. If the violator doesn’t have the fine amount, the collecting officer will check their resident address on driving license or Adhaar card for the same. But if they still don’t have either of the documents, a photo will be clicked and his address will be noted down.
This act has been made a punishable offence under Section 51 (b) of the Disaster Management Act. So, what do you think about this move?!
