We all love to go on road trips and since construction work is underway on the Delhi-Mumbai highway, this will make it more accessible in the near future. However, we just heard that if things go according to plan, we might get an e-highway, a first in India on the Delhi-Mumbai highway. Read on to know more!
Making Way For An E-Highway? | According to estimates, the first stretch of this highway will probably be completed by the year 2022. This electric highway is supposed to be an energy-efficient option that will reduce carbon footprint and the government has already started rolling out pilot projects to build this route. Trucks and buses will be able to run at 120 km per hour on this route which will reduce the logistics by a massive 70%.
The 200-km stretch along the Delhi-Jaipur stretch on this highway which accounts for about 20%, will be electrified. Did you know there will be separate lanes for recharging batteries of cargo trucks and other electric vehicles?
Yep, and we hope that the work for this project is completed super soon so that we can take a road trip of a lifetime!
