Delhiites, 400 Petrol Pumps Across The City May Be Shut On 22nd & 23rd Of October

We come bearing some bad news, people! The Delhi Petrol Dealers Association (DPDA) has called for a 2 day shut down of petrol pumps around the city seeing as there’s been no reduction on the Value Added Tax on both petrol and diesel. Read on for all the deets!

Petrol Pumps To Remain Shut | As if the ever-rising prices of the petrol and diesel weren’t problem enough for Delhiites, DPDA has asked more than 400 petrol pumps in Delhi to stay shut on 22nd and 23rd of October in order to pressure the Delhi Government into reducing VAT on petrol and diesel. According to DPDA, petrol pumps in Delhi have faced 20-30% revenue loss after the excise cuts awarded to neighbouring states of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

They also pointed out how the lower grade quality of fuel in these states will lead to higher pollution levels in the city, thus worsening the air quality.

Let’s hope this dispute gets resolved soon!
