All you sports freaks, if you’ve been frustrated about the fact that there aren’t sufficient sports facilities in the city, it’s time for you to cheer! Why, you ask? Just read ahead to find out!
Unleash The Sportsman In You! | Delhi Development Authority has planned to develop lots of ‘mini’ sports complexes in the city that’ll provide all those sporting facilities as those offered at the 14 existing sports complexes in the city. However, these will all be offered on a smaller scale. The idea is to ensure access to sporting facilities to all the budding athletes and sportspersons at affordable rates.
Currently, there are 14 sports complexes in the city at different locations like Siri Fort, Vasant Kunj, Jasola, Rohini, Dilshad Garden, Munirka and more, however, there is a limitation on the number of permanent members that each of these facilities can admit. So basically, the number and capability of these complexes are way less than the demand.
These mini complexes can help in bridging this gap in the demand for sporting facilities. They’ll have gymnasiums, football or hockey grounds, tennis courts, changing rooms and much more. You might also find jogging tracks and yoga sheds at these complexes.
Well, we are really thankful to the DDA and hope this move is able to encourage budding sportsmen to reach new heights!
