Delhi Metro Is Set For A Historic Expansion To Become The World’s Longest Metro Network By Dec 2025

Delhi Metro is undergoing a major expansion, bringing significant improvements to the city’s transportation network. The goal is to make commuting faster, smoother, and more convenient for everyone.

Breaking Records, Expanding Tracks | By December 2025, Delhi Metro is set to become the world’s longest metro network within a single city, surpassing New York’s 399-km system. As part of Phase 4 of development by DMRC, major progress has been made on key corridors, including the Tughlakabad-Aerocity corridor and the Golden Line. A significant milestone was recently achieved with the completion of tunnelling work between the Kishangarh and Vasant Kunj stations, bringing the project closer to completion. Currently spanning 395 km with 10 lines and 289 stations, the Delhi Metro continues to expand across the NCR.

With new extensions and improved infrastructure, this project marks a major step toward a more efficient and accessible urban transit system.
