The Yamuna is highly polluted and we need to do something quickly in order to revive this essential river and this development by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) sounds like a much-needed step in the right direction!
Coming Up Next, India’s Largest STP | We just heard that the DJB approved the setting up of a new sewage treatment plant (STP). This new STP is touted to be the largest such plant in India and is expected to be completed in the next three years. It will be able to treat 124 million gallons of wastewater per day and will be set up under the Yamuna Action Plan scheme.
Moreover, it will also cater to 40 lakh residents of Lodhi Colony, Kashmere Gate, Greater Kailash, NDMC areas, Chandni Chowk, Katwaria Sarai, Nizamuddin, Okhla, Badarpur, Kalkaji, Malviya Nagar, Lajpat Nagar, South Delhi – from Munirka to Badarpur and Daryaganj.
A great initiative, DJB!
