Banned: Burning Crackers, Crops & Construction! Delhi Takes Emergency Measures To Curb Pollution

Considering the day-by-day rise in the pollution levels, the Government has imposed a ban on the burning of crackers for weddings, and has also banned the burning of crops in and around the city! A meeting was held by Lt Governor Najeeb Jung and he emphasized on the need to take extraordinary measures to control air pollution in Delhi. We wholeheartedly agree!

Various agencies concerned are set to keep a check on the factors causing pollution. The top measures being taken are 'Deregistration' of 15-year old diesel vehicles, MCD to control fire in landfill sites, ban on construction/demolition practices from the 7th-14th November and banning the burning of leaves, garbage, tyres etc., and enforcing a further penalty if this rule is violated.

So Delhiites, there’s no point in crying about the pollution levels if you ain’t going to help in reducing them! Do your part and be a true Delhiite.
