Gurgaon's Banjara Market Known For Cheap Furniture & Home Decor Has Now Gone Online!

The lockdown has been particularly harsh on the daily wagers, who lost their source of income in the blink of an eye, literally. We’ve heard that compassion and kindness really goes a long way, especially during times like these, and when we heard the story of a young lady who helped the local artisans of Banjara Market earn over Rs 2 lakh and set up an Insta store to help them, we couldn’t stop ourselves from sharing it with you guys! So, scroll down, folks.

Helping One Artisan At A Time | After dropping by the Banjara Market one fine day, Srishti Tehri, a graduate of fashion media communication, Pearl Academy, Delhi, decided she wanted to help the local artisans, who were badly affected by the lockdown. She uploaded a few products from the vendors at Banjara Market on their Instagram handle, which were sold out instantly!

A total of 791 products were sold, and she had orders coming in from Telangana, Pondicherry, Maharashtra and Arunachal Pradesh. Their website, Artisans Of Banjara is open to the public on scheduled Sundays at 7 PM, where you can shop for all the quirky and vintage items straight from this vibrant market- if this doesn’t make you wanna splurge right away, we don’t know what will.

So, Srishti did her bit to help ‘em out- and now, it’s your turn to help the artisans by ordering these quirky stuff, so, go shop!
