3. Tamasha

Tamasha is a lot of things. It awakens your wanderlust, it awakens your inner romantic soul, but at its very core, it’s the journey of a man finding himself. You can be impressed by Deepika’s business woman avatar, who takes her father’s business to new heights by her innovation. Or relate to Ranbir, a man who forgets living, in the process of making a living. Anyway, the scene where Ranbir finally realises that he needs to own his narrative, the freeing “tu aur koi hai scene” is chilling and beautiful. The film teaches us that it’s important to be happy, in addition to being successful, and you all really should watch it again!

Iqbal, one of the older gems of Bollywood, is tremendously inspiring, for it’s the story of how a deaf and mute boy Iqbal jumps over all the high hurdles (and there are many) that come in the way of achieving his dream. The film will encourage you to believe in your talents and keep on persisting, no matter how hard it may seem to get.

5. Wake Up Sid

On some level, Wake Up Sid is quite relatable to us ‘aaram pasand’ and ‘chalta hai’ type people. Honestly, no one is fond of studying for exams, and some of us have a harder time than the rest. Wake Up Sid reminds us that being good at studies isn’t everything- following unconventional careers is OK too. Haan, you do need to realise your skill and work hard for it nonetheless, but it’s okay to wander a little as long as you get back on track. Mending your ways becomes easier when you’re doing something you like, and you have woken up from the shambles of your comfort zone. What are your views?

Chhichhore is a movie that has the most valuable lesson out of them all-it teaches us to accept failure. Life throws straight at our face, lemons after lemons, that are especially hard to make a lemonade out of when you’re just an ex-student, and barely an adult. Understanding the pressure of competitive examinations, and trying to teach his son how to deal with failure, Sushant & his friends recall their college life- hence giving us the best of both worlds! Ultimately, they do teach us to hang on. Ready for a binge, peeps?
