9 Honest & Candid Thoughts We All Had While Watching Gehraiyaan - The Movie!

Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi & Ananya Pandey’s much-awaited movie - Gehraiyaan created a huge buzz before its release and has managed to keep it going even after it. Mostly ‘cos it managed to shock the audience, who have some mixed reviews about the same. Well, besties, we also had quite a few thoughts while watching the movie and we’re gonna share ‘em with you! So, folks, hold your chairs ‘cause we‘ve got some interesting and candid thoughts we had while watching the movie for y’all. Read on!

*Spoilers Ahead - Please read at your own risk!* (Wink)

1. We Wanna Learn Yoga From Deepika Too!

Let’s be honest, Deepika's flexibility and clean forms of yoga really did sweep us off our feet! She looked extremely fit and ravishing in the entire movie and well, who wouldn’t wanna commit to being fit with a trainer like that? *Heart Eyes*

2. First Things First, Beachside Farmhouse, Yacht… 10/10 Points For Aesthetics

Amidst all the mixed reviews, there’s one thing that everyone agrees about - the 10/10 aesthetics! Seriously, we were continuously ogling at the eye-catching beach farmhouse, the wonderful background of the spectacular sea in most of the movie, and pretty much everything else. Gehraiyaan defo hit the right spot with its cinematography and aesthetics!

3. Wait! Is The Plot Really Glorifying Cheating?

From the start, there were continuous fireworks between Alisha & Zain, who were supposedly in long and committed relationships. Even though it looked like they weren’t happy with theirs at the moment, they didn’t give a second’s thought before starting an affair, and never showed an ounce of guilt. Is cheating that easy? Plus, is it an action to be celebrated?!

4. Thank God The Songs Are Kept Simple And Uncomplicated, Unlike The Plot!

Besties, we are not biased and we are gonna give 10/10 to all the songs of this movie. Each one of them is absolutely addictive and we just can’t stop ourselves from humming and jamming to them! ‘Han doobey, haan doobey, uff ye gehraiyaan!’

5. Naseeruddin Shah’s Acting Is Free Therapy

Some people work really hard on their craft and that makes them stand out from the crowd. However, some people are just born with that knack and talent, and Naseeruddin Shah is one such iconic actor. His acting is truly top-notch and just blew our minds. Isn’t so?

6. Are Bosses Really Taking Out Interns For Lunch At Lavish Restaurants? OMG!

Remember when Zain takes out his interns to lunch?  Although it was a mere excuse to run into Alisha but still… Are bosses really taking interns out for lunch and more? We can’t believe it!

7. Why Didn’t Tia AKA Ananya Pandey Use TrueCaller?

Now, don’t you think the entire movie would have ended in straight-up 5 minutes if Tia would have used true caller to figure out who Zain was really talking to? Guess she didn't know a miraculous app as it exists!

8. The Main Lead Of The Story Dies In The End, However, The Logic Pretty Much Dies In The Beginning…

Now, this movie is somehow a classic case of being all over the place. It starts off as a romantic character drama and keeps getting complicated in a way that seemed artificial. The climax of the movie didn’t fit in well either. At times, each character exhibited potential growth but it just didn’t lead anywhere making the entire movie - Jarring!

9. No Matter What, Deepika Is A Powerhouse Actress. Also, We’re Totes Digging Her Style! *Heart Eyes*

Deepika Padukone is called the Queen of Bollywood for a reason! She is truly a phenomenal actress and just like all her movies, she excelled in the character of Alisha and justified her emotions with utmost grace and honesty. We just couldn't take our eyes off her throughout the movie despite not liking certain titbits of her character.

So, folks, what all thoughts did you have? Let us know in the comments!
